A board that runs on rhythm
Most board dysfunction is not a people problem. It is a cadence problem. Fix the rhythm and a surprising amount of the rest follows.
Boards mature along a path: a young board with no committees, then a working board with two or three committees, then an institutionalized board with a full committee structure.
The goal at every stage is the simplest structure that does real work. Committees exist to add value, not to perform governance. If a committee is lip service that consumes time without adding value, collapse it and give the work back to the full board until there is enough substance to justify a standing group.
What this workspace is not
This is not a board portal. It does not store anything on a server, it does not send email, and it does not replace the judgment of the executive and the board chair. It gives you structure and language. The rhythm is still yours to keep.
